Who is Chef Perry
Hello, I’m Chef Perry P. Perkins, a third generation professional chef, instructor, and cookbook author. I’m classically trained in French technique, and focus my love of cooking on barbeque, traditional southern fare, and fresh Northwest cuisine.
I’m also the executive chef at SimplySmartDinnerPlans and am directly responsible for the “Haute & Healthy” (diabetic friendly), and “Gluten Free & Easy” Meal Plans, well as being the CEO of the non-profit MY KITCHEN Outreach Program, teaching hands on cooking classes for at-risk kids.
I’m an author, food writer, and novelist, and have written for hundreds of magazines, everything from Writer’s Digest and Guideposts, to American Hunter and Bassmaster Magazine. My inspirational stories have been included in fifteen Chicken Soup anthologies, as well.
I’ve blogged for Sears/Kenmore’s “Grilling is Happiness” page for years. Representing Kenmore, and grilling my“Dragon Claws” appetizerin Chicago was a hoot!
I consult, on occasion, with the Oregonian Newspaper’s FOOD-Day Section.
